Garburators

Location: Seattle, Washington, USA

My last day in Seattle was shaping up to be lovely and relaxing right from the get go. Kat and Matt left before the sun came up to catch their ferry back to Victoria, and Rob had to work today so it was down to three: Alex, Erica and I.

The three of us visited in the morning over coffee and I did some research for my busy day tomorrow. I’ll be out of the country during the federal elections so I have to deal with that, on top of a bunch of other things. I only have a few days to wrangle my life together before heading over the pond!

Since we hadn’t been out of the house in over 24 hours we decided to go for a nice crisp fall walk down to the lake. It actually reminded me a lot of home in a way. People were friendly, there was tons of green space and the pace is quite a bit slower than in most of the other American cities I’ve been to. If I had to live in the US this might be one of the places I’d consider. We sat and visited some more in the sunshine before making our way home, chatting a lot (like a lot) about the many many dogs we were seeing.

We ate turkey dinner leftovers when Rob got home from work (the best kind of leftovers) and went back to frozen custard so I could have one last taste of what is now my favourite ice cream. We stopped quickly at a GameStop to grab a few controllers, as we’ve planned to play four man Halo for the rest of the evening.

I can’t imagine a better end to my time in the US.

P.S. Today Katisse and I bought Taylor Swift tickets for next year! We anxiously waited in the online queue and the whole process to over an hour, so hopefully we’ll be able to go by the time it rolls around next July!

P.S.S Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian family and friends!
