It’s here it’s here the day is here we get see our hero today. RAAAHHH.
Katisse asked if I was going to write a blog post about today, to which I replied I wasn’t sure. My reasons were twofold 1) being that New York was over, and 2) how would I ever write about the concert and not just write IN CAPS THE WHOLE TIME?! But then I realized that the whole trip was built around this, so how could I not write about it? And if I wanted to write in all caps? THEN DAMMIT I WOULD WRITE IN ALL CAPS.
MY UNIVERSITY FRIEND (ok just kidding I won’t do all caps) Rachael Topp is living in Toronto and was nice enough to let us vagabonds stay with her over the weekend. As with when Kat met Gordy, I was so happy to have Rachael and Kat meet as well. Worlds blending yay! After having coffee in the morning with us Kat went to have lunch with her extended family, and Rachael and I grabbed some food and walked down Queen Street for a bit of shopping. We didn’t buy anything but it was awesome to distract myself for the afternoon with cool antique shops and good company.
As the day wore on my anticipation grew and I just couldn’t hold it in any longer! We rushed back to the apartment to start getting ready, with Rachael doing our hair, helping us pick our outfits and drinking a few beers with me. We put on Taylor, sang along in the living room and swiped on the traditional red lipstick before heading out for dinner.

I could barely eat I was so excited! Kat and I were just all jitters as we hopped into a cab and stared at our tickets. ALMOST THERE.
We each bought a tshirt before the openers. Camilla Cabello and Charlie XCX opened and were phenomenal all on their own. The stadium filled up during the opening acts, and the lights dimmed around 8:45 and we all started screaming. Kat and I held hands and screamed at the top of our lungs as Tay came out on stage to start with ‘…Ready For It?’
The whole stage was alight with pyrotechnics and laser lights, her backup dancers hit the beats and the whole crowd had on light up bracelets that were all timed to each other to give the 50,000 person crowd a beating colourful pulse. Giant 2 story high inflatable snakes slithered out of the stages around the crowd and swayed for few songs.

She sang every song beautifully, came out into the crowd and touched a bunch of peoples hands, and thanked us all over and over for taking the time to be there.
Just when we thought the show couldn’t get any better she flew over the crowd in a lit up ball and landed TWENTY FEET FROM US ON A MINI STAGE WHERE SHE SANG ‘Dress’. I am not at all ashamed to say we cried and screamed the whole time.
Not every show gets a special guest but we were one of the lucky few who got someone. Bryan Adams came out and they sang ‘Summer of ’69’ together and the crowd lit up and screamed the whole time!
I don’t want to forget any detail, from the speeches about your reputation, to the little newspaper confetti that flew throughout the crowd, to the glittery dresses she wore. Every bit was amazing and I already can’t wait for the next one in 2 or 3 years. All in all her set was about 2 hours long!

We met up with Meaghan (YES!), her cousin Dana, Rachael and her friend Harry P. and all grabbed drinks at Mavericks and freaked out about the show until FIVE IN THE MORNING. (Hence why this post is a bit late…)
Overall an amazing experience. I couldn’t be more ecstatic with the trip, and the concert!
Until the next trip,
