Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Sav: Today being our last day in Amsterdam, we decided to start it off right. We’ve fallen behind on the blog, not wanting to waste a minute of the time we have left. We got breakfast and beer, cheers’d to an amazing trip and an amazing day and cracked down. An hour and a bit later we were mostly caught up with our stories.
Meag: It was a crisp, sunny day so we spent the day out and about. We stopped by this little cheese shop and talked to the clerk about the different kinds of Gouda they sold. We were only too happy to try all the cheese he told us about, with a few tasty chutneys and dips too. My favourite was an olive and sundried tomato combination. I may or may not be drooling right now just thinking about it.
When we went to the Rijksmuseum with Shivani, we took a few photos of her with the IAmsterdam sign, but it was dark and crowded so figured we would come back another day for another photo. Today was our last opportunity, so we walked along the canals heading towards the big sign. Along the way, we passed through an antique book and print market. We found some really cool stuff! My favourite was an old copy of a book my grandma has, the flower fairy alphabet. It was very cute.
As luck would have it, when we got to the IAmsterdam sign there was a group of street performers on one side so there wasn’t a ton of people standing in the way. We each hopped up and chose a letter to pose with. I’m still not sure how anyone gets the entire thing in one photo but we gave it a go!

S: As with the last 5 days we decided that a wok box was the way to go for dinner. Cheap, easy, not deep fried. You know.
As it is our last night just us two, we thought it a good idea to sit and really reminisce about the trip. Over a few beers we discussed people we’d met along the way. Not just good friends but every person who had any interaction with us from our tour guide in Dublin, to crazy eyes on the Budapest train, to the twin bartenders in Florence. The nameless people who all impacted our trip in some way. Of course we also focused on the people who impacted us personally, the friends we never stop thinking about, the friends we never stop talking about. We miss you all!
