Sav: Today was the most down day we’ve had yet so not a ton to report. We slept in and leisurely took our time getting ready instead of frantically running out the door. This was nice because we got to just lay around and relax with Kelly before she left, as she only had one day in Galway. When we finally got our acts together we proceeded to the Latin quarter to explore. We got pretty turned around trying to find The Spanish Arch… Now let me give you a bit of background on this…
We decided for this trip we didn’t want to over research. What we mean by that is on a lot of previous trips we’ve planned and researched so much that by the time you get there it sort of already feels like you’ve seen everything. Like everyone knows exactly what the Eiffel Tower looks like and most people even know the scale because they’ve seen it in so many movies or aerial photos. We really wanted to avoid that and hunt for that magical feeling you get when you see things for the first time.
WELL. That has worked out wonderfully for us so far because we know we WANT to see certain things but we don’t know yet what they look like. In the case of the Spanish arch a few people had mentioned going down there so we followed the signs down to the water to find it… aaand passed right on by it. TWICE! I was expecting this grand arch but it was kind of small eh Meags?

Meaghan: Yep, it was not very exciting. I’m sure there is some really neat history on it but I haven’t looked it up yet. After our underwhelming experience with the Spanish Arch we went to The Gourmet Tart Co. and grabbed some tasty tarts to eat by the river. We hung out for a bit and slowly made our way back to the hostel then bus station. We missed the bus transfer at Dublin Airport by a grand total of six minutes, and sadly had to buy new tickets up to Belfast. I will be on the phone with the bus company tomorrow! (S: thanks momma Meaghan)

We’re very much looking forward to Belfast. Savanna has somehow even convinced me to go on a ghost tour…we will see how that one goes!
S: YES! It’s going to be magnificent watching that tour unfold because I’ll be scared… But also laughing at how much MORE scared Meaghan is than me!
We got in very late to Belfast but put on our jackets and big girl socks and went walking around for half an hour anyway. Belfast looks like it’s going to be a blast! We are both excited to have 4 nights in a place finally so we can get to know it a little better!
